An easy trek in Kathmandu to Nagarkot passing through Chisapani offers far-off views of snowy mountains, country lifestyle, and culture. Who travels with kids, family, students and has insufficient time for longer trips to Nepal, this Kathmandu Nagarkot Hike will be appropriate.
Drive 15 km from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (1350 m), which takes approximately 35-40 min. It’s a popular Valley-dwellers picnic spot on public holidays. On the way to Chisopani (2175 m) via Mulkharka, we notice Sundarijal waterfall and watershed that is supplied to the Kathmandu Valley and passes by Tamang Village.
Following Mulkhara, we pass via the dense forest, which takes 4-5 hours to Chisapani, a Sherpa village that gives majestic mountain views. We will carry a hot lunch and have somewhere in between the hike. Relax in the evening, by observing a scenic village sunset.
The next day is a comparatively challenging day that needs you to walk for about 7 hours. We pursue the unsealed path for 2-3 hours via the trees, with birds chirping sound, and beautiful nature. After that, descend down to Jhule and Chauki Bhanjyang. Next, we pass through the idyllic plateau to Nagarkot, a range to the east of Kathmandu that delivers an unbeatable landscape of limitless hills across a significant segment of the Himalayas. Undoubtedly the setting sun will spark your soul and motivate your sight with the combinations of color it drops on the Himalayas.

Itinerary
Once you reach Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the Himalayan Marvel Adventure delegate will receive you from there then check-in in the hotel. In the evening, we will sit together for a meeting with the tour guide and our staff then we will give a brief discussion about our itineraries, accommodation, transportation, services that we include, and exclude, and we provide a cap, T-shirt, and bag with our company logo.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Sundarijal, which will take around 1 hrs if there is no traffic. To avoid heavy traffic, we will leave early in the morning. Today’s real journey starts once we reach Sundarijal. From here, we will begin the trek to Chisapani. First, we will take stone stairs that lead towards the Shivapuri National Park following the waterfall and watershed. Walking for around an hour, we will get an entrance to the National Park. Walking further, we will pass via Tamang village and then hiking for 4-5 hrs through a deep forest will take us to Chisapani.
After breakfast at Chisapani, we will begin our trek to Nagarkot. Descending for 2-3 hrs on an unsealed road, we reach Chauki Bhanjyang. From here, the trail is flat for 2 hrs and then ascends for almost 30 mins. Then we arrive at Nagarkot, a beautiful hill station with exquisite panoramic views of the Himalayas. Explore around Nagarkot, climb up to the tower to view the whole valley, and other places. Then we will drive back to Kathmandu.
In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner with the trekking crew with a guide and other staff. Enjoy the farewell dinner, and then have a sound sleep at the hotel of Kathmandu.
