Rara Lake Trek formally began on this day. Begin the trek from Jumla to Chere Chaur after breakfast. As this is the first day of the trek, we must climb steadily and drink plenty of water. We’ll pass through Khalanga Bazaar, a small marketplace, on our way to Chere Chaur. We’ll arrive in Chere Chaur after crossing many small villages and temples.
We continue our trek to Chalachaur after breakfast. Our adventure started with an ascent via rhododendron groves. We go on to an unspecified green meadow. The path continues to climb until it reaches the Jaljala pass. It provides a spectacular view of the Kanjiroba Himal to the northeast. The Jaljala Pass is not as laborious as other passes. For the next couple of hours, we’ll pursue our walk via a peaceful forest, following the downhill direction. Before reaching Chalachaur, we climb a steep path and join the Rara lake circuit. We will arrive in Chalachaur after walking through the cool forests.
Today’s trail takes us to Sinja Valley. The route follows the Jaljala dam, passing through many villages and dense forests. We’ll follow the Jaljala Khola through a dense pine forest. After walking through terraced farms, we’ll arrive in the Sinja valley. The fact that culture and traditions have been preserved in this valley is fascinating. Beautiful scenery, the unique Khas language, and friendly people can all be found in the Sinja valley.
The morning walk starts by leaving Sinja Khola and leading another stream of Ghatte Khola north-eastwards towards a short uphill, then arriving at a pretty small valley and into farmlands with primitive water mills, which are used for grinding corns, wheat, and other grains into fine flour for bread. After the camp is set up, take a few more steps and arrive in Ghorasain, a small village with a police post. After the camp is set up, spend the afternoon relaxing and catching up with the dairy.
After breakfast, we resume our trek and walk up to Chichhemara hill, which provides a spectacular view of the Himalayas and the peaceful Rara Lake. Passing through the Murma village, we ascend to the Chapri village before arriving at Rara, the glorious beauty of the Lakes.
The most crucial day of our Rara Lake trek has arrived. After all of the challenges, today we will have the opportunity to explore Rara Lake, which appears to be nothing short of paradise. From horseback riding to lake boating, there is plenty to do here. Exploring the wildlands and woodlands, which are home to a wide variety of birds and animals, is another way to make the most of your day. Serows, Red Pandas, and Langurs are some of the wild animals you’ll see. We’ll camp out in front of Rara Lake for the night.
Today’s walk follows a beautiful, moderate route to a ridge top at Jhyari small village. From there, the trail follows the Jhyari Bira Khola downstream for a short distance. Follow the Dhauligar Khola to Pina after crossing the Dhauligar Khola valley.
We leave the Pina village and walk downhill after crossing the Ghurchi Lagna Pass, the highest point of our trek, where you can see chortens festooned with a prayer flag. The path then passes through a peaceful and alluring forest with spectacular scenery of the landscape and hills to the north. We arrive in Bumra after admiring the beautiful landscape and passing through a few villages rich in Gurung culture.
We walk to Jumla, pursuing the gently sloped uphill trail. On our way, we cross tall birch trees to the Khali Lagna and Danphe Lekh. We can get the most beautiful scenery of the steep mountains to the south and Jumla below the ridge. And after few more walks, we reach Jumla, where we must approach the trail with extreme caution.
Breakfast in the morning, say goodbye to the trekking crew, and fly back to Nepalgunj with the trekking guide then again fly back to Kathmandu. After 25 mins flight, you will drive back to the hotel and take a rest. The remaining day, you can spend on your own. You can explore Kathmandu, the Thamel market, and many more.
