Overview

The Tibet Overland Tour from Kathmandu is the right alternative for tourists who want to visit both Lhasa and Kathmandu. Nepal and Tibet share a boundary that runs the whole length of Nepal’s north-eastern border, across the majestic Himalayan Mountain Range. Despite both being located in the world’s highest mountain range, they are somewhat diverse in terms of landscape, culture, and community.

The Tibet Overland Tour from Kathmandu is an exciting journey that provides utterly breathtaking views of the plateau, and also historic monasteries, landscapes, and indigenous people’s lifestyles. We will learn about the rural land history, wide areas, glorified temples, and artfully designed monasteries that are ruled by Lhasa, the iconic holy place. With breathtaking views of the magnificent Himalayas, like Mount Everest, noticeable from the Tibetan side, an atmosphere of magic and mystery greets you.

The 8 days Tibet Overland Tour from Kathmandu starts and ends at Kathmandu.  On the very first day, we drove to Kerung Border via the beautiful countryside by Bus or Van. For the next 5 days, we explore around Tibet, where we stop by Tingri then Xigatse, Gyantse, and at last Lhasa. After spending two days at Lhasa, we came back to Kathmandu.

Throughout the journey when we are at Tibet territory we witness Tibetan landscapes, breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m) and Mt. Xishapagma (8,012m), crossover Gyatchu La (5,220 m), the Panchen Lama’s Tashilhunpo Monastery, cross over Karola (5,010m), Kambala (4,749m), Colorful Yamdrok-Tso Lake, and the Tibetan lifeline river Brahmaputra (Yarlung Tsangpo), Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Bazaar, And Potala Palace Drepung and Sera Monasteries

Apart from that, the time when you are in Nepal, you will see the famous Durbar Squares, always busy Asan market, and other beautiful places according to your stay at Kathmandu. If you want to explore Nepal then you can customize the package. If you need help to customize the trip then feel free to talk with us, we will suggest the best places.
