Overview

Ghorepani PoonHill Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek combine to form the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek.  Annapurna Sanctuary Trek passes us to pictorial villages with frontage roads and roof tiles of a historic town, to the noises of fierce wildlife and wild birds, to the fragrance of fresh flowers and ancient land, to the rallying world’s highest mountains, and gloomy forbidden ground. Annapurna Sanctuary Trek will enchant you as it takes you across the Himalayas.

This 15-day Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is complete, and the surplus energetic trek contributes to an enduring impression, which can be exceedingly productive for progression and a positive mindset.

Following a 6-7-hours drive or a quick flight to Pokhara, the scenic lake city west of Kathmandu, we explore several central tourist attractions before concluding with a fantastic view of the mighty Himalayas. On the preceding day, we started the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek by driving to Nayapul and then trekking to Tikhe Dhunga and Ghorepani, and the next day hike to Poohnill early in the morning.

The sunrise over the skyline from Poon Hill is the pinnacle of this Ghorepani Poonhill trek, but, before that, the path crosses via picturesque villages, thick rhododendron forests teeming with birds, and deep sub-tropical valleys. We trekked to Tadapani on the same day. On the next day, go uphill and downhill cross Kimrong river and pass via large Rhododendron forest to reach Chhomrong. Then descend over a suspension bridge with spectacular views of Mt. Annapurna, and Mt. Machhapuchhare on the way to Himalaya Hotel.

On this day, we step on the base camp of Mt. Annapurna crossing the base camp of Mt. Machhapuchhre. From the base camp, the scenery is breathtaking and will have the views of Annapurna I, south Himchuli, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, and others Annapurna Ranges. After that, retrace back passing Bamboo, Jhinu Danda, and other settlements, and reach Pokhara then back to Kathmandu.

The Annapurna Sanctuary 15 days trek is your thing if you are looking for an easy and excellent trekking trail in Nepal. At any time of year, you can go on this trek. Also, you can customize our trip as you wish.

Day 3 Drive/ Fly to Pokhara (800m/2625ft, 7-8 hrs/ 25 mins)

The day starts early in the morning in both cases to drive or fly to Pokhara. It will take around 7-8 hrs and most probably we will start at 6 am and will have lunch on the way. Once we reach Pokhara we will check-in in the hotel and take a rest. In the evening we will visit the lakeside of Pokhara and relax there.

If we fly to Pokhara then we will leave for the airport by 7 am and take a flight at 8 am. After some time we will reach Pokhara and check-in in the hotel. Since it is not tiring that’s why we can explore around Pokhara. You will find many exciting places here with natural beauty. The whole day you can enjoy the beauty of nature at Pokhara and can take part in some exciting adventures like paragliding, zip flyer, mountain biking, ultralight flight, and many more.

Many adventures are waiting for you so it is your decision to go to Pokhara by driving or flying.

Day 4 Drive to Nayapul (1050m, 45mins) then trek to Tikhe Dhunga (1540m, 4 hrs)

Leaving Pokhara hotel early morning and driving to Nayapul will take around 2 hrs. Once we reach Nayapul we will have breakfast there enjoying the neighboring views.

After that, we will start our journey to Tikhe Dhunga which takes around 4 hrs walk. Taking after Modi Stream, we will stroll past the timberland of sprouting rhododendron and cross a small creek. We’ll cross Birethanti after approximately 30 minutes of the journey and arrive at Tikhe Dhunga.

Rest of the day enjoy exploring around Tikhe Dhunga and most probably you will meet lots of trekkers in this place. Because this place is a popular place for the Annapurna region trekking.

Day 5 Trek to Ghorepani (2750m, 5-6 hrs)

Today is the stiff part of the trek, where the elevation increases from 1495 m to 2850 m bypassing several villages (Ulleri, Banthanti, Nangge thanti). At first, we reached Ulleri then crossed Magar village at Banthanti with spectacular Machhapuchhre, Hiunchulu, and Annapurna south views. Then cross a small river and climb up to Nangge thanti.

Moving en route, Ghorepani will get astounding pictorial views of Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna ranges, and other mountains even from lower elevations.

Day 6 Hike to Poon Hill (3210m, 1.5 hrs) then trek to Tadapani (2590m, 5-6 hrs)

The day starts early morning, we will get ready for our trek and leave at around 5 am. It will take around 45 mins to reach the viewpoint of Poonhill from where we can get the most beautiful sunrise view. It will be crowded so to get to the perfect place we need to get here earlier than others.

After spending some time observing one of the most beautiful views we retrace back to the lodge at Ghorepani, have our breakfast, and leave for Tadapani. The path will be full of exciting pictorial views of surrounding mountains, Rhododendron forest, and lively villages. After around 6 hrs walk we will reach Tadapani, where we will stay over.

Day 7 Trek to Chhomrong (2340m, 5-6 hrs)

Leaving Tadapani today, we will go uphill and downhill before we reach Chhomrong. We will cross Kimrong Khola, pass through a large Rhododendron forest, cross a suspension bridge to reach Chhomrong, today’s destination. Chhomrong is a beautiful village placed on the lap of the massive Annapurna.

Day 8 Trek to Himalaya Hotel (2870m, 5-6 hrs)

After descending over the Chomrong Khola on the suspension bridge, the trail ascends through a terraced field and then bamboo and rhododendron forest. Most of the routes are often concrete, and we might get a glimpse of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Machhapuchhare.

After a few hour’s walk, we reach Khuldigar, take a short break, and descend on a stone staircase to the thick bamboo forest. From here, climb steeply via bamboo and rhododendron side by side, following the trail above the Modi Khola’ The trail goes steeply up to the Himalayan Hotel.

Day 9 Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m, 7-8 hrs)

Most memorable day of the trek. We step on the base camp of Mt. Annapurna crossing the base camp of Mt. Machhapuchhre. Walking for a few hours, we reach Hinku Cave, the favorite camping shelter. After walking further, we will reach Deurali and then cross several streams. Then the trail goes up to Base Camp, which is moderately steep.

From base camp, the scenery is breathtaking and will have views of Annapurna I, south Himchuli, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, and other Annapurna Ranges.

We will set camp here and stay overnight here.

Day 10 Trek to Bamboo (2400m, 5-6 hrs)

On the backtrack day, with the early morning view mostly witnessing the phenomenal sunrise view from the Base Camp, we retrace back. Passing through the tiny settlements, we head towards Bamboo.
Since today is a long day trek, we have lunch on the way and witness the overwhelming views. Passing the forested area with bamboo and rhododendron trees, we reach Bamboo. Long day trek must be tiring, so we put our stuff in the lodge and take a rest.

Day 11 Trek to Jhinu (1780m, 5-6 hrs)

On this day, we backtrack on the same trail, which we took a few days ago from Chhomrong (ascending to Kuldighar pursued by a downhill to Chhomrong Khola, and then walk on some stone steps).

Once we reach Chhomrong, we take a break and then a few more steep descent, and we reach Jhinu Danda. Then, we walk downhill for a few minutes to enjoy the hot springs. If the weather is sunny, then we will have miraculous views on the way.

Day 12 Trek to Tolkha

After breakfast at the lodge of Jhinu, we cross some forests and Kyumrong Khola on our way downhill towards Tolkha. Then pass through Landruk village, the home to the inherent Gurung community, with a convenient bite. After lunch, we head towards our destination, Tolkha. Long day trek must be tiring, so we put our stuff in the lodge and take a rest.

Day 13 Trek to Kade or Phedi then drive to Pokhara

Leaving behind Tolkha, we head towards Kade or Phedi and from there drive to Pokhara. Once we reach we check-in in the hotel and take a rest. In the evening, we will visit the lakeside of Pokhara, which is one of the best activities in Pokhara.

Day 14 Drive/Fly back to Kathmandu (1400m, 7-8 hrs/ 25mins)

Since it’s a long day, we start a day early in the morning. After breakfast at the hotel, we drove back to Kathmandu on the same route which we took previously. After around 7 hrs, we reach the hotel and then check-in and relax.

Or if you fly back to Kathmandu it will take less time to reach there and you also get a chance to explore Kathmandu valley. If you are flying then you will take a morning flight at 7:45 am and by 10 am you will check-in in the hotel. So you will have enough time to do shopping or explore the valley or you can relax the whole day, it’s your choice.

In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner with the trekking crew with a guide and other staff. Enjoy the farewell dinner, and then have a sound sleep at the hotel of Kathmandu.

Day 15 Departure Day

Himalayan Marvel Adventure delegate will drop you at the airport before 3 hrs and return to the respective places. Or you can choose the next program for the next adventurous journey.
