The Manaslu trek is an off-the-beaten-path trek that circumnavigates the highest mountains in the world which include Mount Manaslu (8,163m). Manaslu will take you through remote villages and valleys, allowing you to experience the raw beauty of the Himalayan wilderness.
Trekking around this heavenly myth will take you to the Larkya La pass (5,160m) which is covered by diverse terrain, ranging from lush green forests to beautiful waterfalls. It almost sounds poetic when describing these lands but words and literature are never enough to see the beauty with your own barren eyes.
From deep gorges to rocky terrain. From snow-capped peaks to high-altitude lakes and all of these masterpieces of nature are left unhinged, left to be appreciated not through captures or a glimpse of images but through life itself is exactly why heaven on earth places like Manaslu exists.
Larkya La pass is one of the main highlights of Manaslu with minding views from the top. Welcome amazing people to the country capped with mesmerizing beauty and of course- the Himalayas. Your trip has just begun and what better way to welcome you than to be there right at the country’s front gate? Our representative will be at the airport, sharing the same excitement you’re feeling and they’ll take you to a well-renowned hotel in Kathmandu city.
Also, today we’ll debrief you about a few things you’ll need to know before the trek begins and as there is jet lag, today is a day for you to simply rest. But if for you, jet lag’s a myth then the valley is open with wonders for you to explore.
After an early breakfast, we will drive to Soti Khola in a private vehicle. The scenic drive will take us through the beautiful Nepalese countryside, passing through small towns and villages. Also, the drive will take around 7-8 hours and today will mostly be spent on a vehicle.
Sitting down on the trail of a fast-moving vehicle filled with scenes of mountains and hills all around is exactly when poetry lives. That is when your mind is filled with nothing but art and what better way to be in such a moment than to simply sit and observe the movement?
The sit-down’s over. The fantasies have diminished. The imagination, the speculation, all of it subsides as today is the day all of it becomes a reality itself. Our trekking journey begins today.
Today, we will trek to Macha Khola which is around an altitude of 1400m. To reach Macha Khola (The Fish River) we will cross the Soti Khola suspension bridge and follow the trail that winds through beautiful forests and rice paddies.
Also, today’s trek will be filled with small villages and you’ll get to enjoy stunning views of some of Nepal’s hidden waterfalls.
Today, we will trek from Machakhola to Jagat where we will pass through various landscapes, including rocky trails and forests, and cross a few suspension bridges over the Budhi Gandaki River.
Also, since this is not just a trek but a fun experience, we will stop at TatoPani, a hot spring in the middle of the hills to simply relax, refresh and reflect.
Depending on the trail, the climate, and the situation, today we will either trek to Pewa (2078m) or Deng (1805m). We will pass through beautiful small villages that are filled with lush forests.
We will also cross a few suspension bridges over the Budhi Gandaki River, (which is a stunning majesty in its own right) and enjoy the stunning views of the mountains all around us.
After a good night’s rest and appetizing breakfast, we will embark on our journey to hike towards the Namrung region (2630m). The hike from Deng to Namrung is a beautiful journey through the Himalayan terrain.
You’ll pass through dense forests and charming villages before reaching Namrung, a humble village with friendly locals and stunning mountain views. This hike is a great way to experience the unique culture and natural beauty of the region.
We will trek to Lho (3180m) today. The trek from Namrung to Lho is a thrilling adventure through the Himalayan landscape. You’ll enjoy stunning views of the Manaslu and Naike peaks, and visit the Ribung Gompa Monastery.
This monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in the region. The monastery’s rich cultural heritage and serene atmosphere will fill you with the local peace of Buddhistic preaching.
Today, we’ll hike from Lho to Sama Gaon (3530m) through the picturesque villages of Shyala and Samdo. Along the way, we’ll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Sama Gaon is a charming village with ancient monasteries and chortens and friendly locals who are eager to share their traditions. The hike is a great way to experience the unique culture and natural beauty of the region.
Today is an acclimatization day at Sama Gaon (3530m). We’ll hike to Birendra Lake, a tranquil spot surrounded by juniper and pine trees. The lake’s crystal-clear waters reflect the majestic mountains, creating a stunning backdrop.
We’ll also interact with friendly locals and immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the Manaslu region.
Today, we’ll trek to Samdo (3860m) through rugged terrain and stunning mountain vistas. As we hike higher, we’ll feel the altitude changing but the breathtaking scenery will make all of that worth it.
We’ll also have a chance to explore the village (Samdo) and its ancient monasteries and learn about the traditional way of life in the mountains. The trek to Samdo is a challenging but rewarding experience that will give us a deeper appreciation of the beauty and culture of the Manaslu region.
Today, we’ll trek from Samdo (3860m) to Dharmashala (4460m), passing through the breathtaking scenery of snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and valleys. Dharmashala is a remote village that serves as a rest stop for trekkers on their way to the Larkya La Pass, one of the region’s most challenging treks.
We’ll stay in a rustic lodge overnight, enjoying the locals’ warm hospitality and preparing for our journey over the past. Today will test us physically and mentally, but the experience of crossing the past and taking in the stunning surroundings will be unforgettable.
We’ll trek from Dharmashala (4460m) to Bhimthang (3590m) via Larkya Pass (5160m), the highest point of our trek. The challenging ascent to the pass takes us through steep and rocky terrain, offering stunning panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers.
After crossing the pass, we’ll descend to the tranquil village of Bhimthang, passing through dense forests and streams. Here, we’ll spend the night and enjoy the warm hospitality of the locals.
We’ll trek through lush forests of rhododendrons and oaks, meadows, and charming villages. Crossing streams and small waterfalls along the way, we’ll reach Gurung Goa, a small village offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
We’ll spend the night at a cozy teahouse in Gurung Goa, enjoying the warm hospitality of the locals.
Today is our last day of trekking.
Leaving Goa, we’ll continue trekking through the picturesque Marsyangdi Valley, passing through dense forests, terraced fields, and charming villages. The trail gradually descends, offering us stunning views of the mountains and the valley below.
After a few hours of hiking, we’ll reach Dharapani, a bustling village at the intersection of the Annapurna Circuit and the Manaslu Trek. We’ll spend the night at a teahouse in Dharapani, enjoying the local hospitality and resting before continuing our adventure.
After a long and rewarding trek, today we will drive to the beautiful city of Pokhara. This lakeside city is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal, offering stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains and a range of outdoor activities.
Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel and take some time to relax and explore the city on our own.
Today is a free day to explore Pokhara. You can choose to go boating on Phewa Lake, visit the International Mountain Museum, hike to the World Peace Pagoda, or simply relax and enjoy the views.
In the evening, you can explore the local markets and try some delicious Nepali cuisine.
Today we will drive back to Kathmandu. Along the way, we will pass through scenic countryside and small villages.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will check into our hotel and take some time to rest, and prepare for our departure.
After an unforgettable journey through the Himalayas, it is time to say goodbye to Nepal. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some time to do some last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Kathmandu before being transferred to the airport for your flight home. We hope you remember this trip for a lifetime.
