Trip Overview

    Everest Base Camp trek with Heli is a twofold experience of trekking and heli ride. Perfect for those who want to step on Mt.Everest but do not have much time. Instead, you can take a helicopter from Namche and back to Lukla. On this 9 days Everest Base Camp trek with Heli, 4 days will be trekking days, then ride on a helicopter to explore the mighty Mount Everest and regular flight back to Kathmandu. 

    Flying across a helicopter is very efficient, and you can have a remarkable and thrilling life experience of the world’s highest mountains. On helicopter flights, you don’t have to think about canceling the flight because of poor weather.

    The trip begins with a guided tour around Kathmandu valley. Then a scenic flight to Lukla. Then we trek to Phakding then Namche. Stopover Namche Bazaar, the historic village of Sherpa and the nominal capital of the Khumbu region on this swift journey. During the 4 relaxing days of trekking, you can travel by the Sagarmatha National Park, via the Alpine forests, Hillary School, Hillary Hospital, Khumjung village, and explore the oldest Monastery situated at Thame village. The trip finishes with a helicopter tour of the snow-capped Himalayas.

    During the helicopter tour, we will get aerial views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kangtega, Lhotse, and Nuptse before landing at Kalapatthar. We will take a short break from the helicopter and explore the surrounding. Click the mesmerizing views of Mt. Everest and neighboring mountains. After spending some quality time with Kalapatthar, we head back towards Lukla. As we descend to Gorak Shep, we hold the enticing vision of the trace. Then regular fly back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m).

Once you reach Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the Himalayan Marvel Adventure delegate will receive you from there then check-in in the hotel. In the evening, you will meet your trek guide and other crew members then have a brief discussion about our itineraries, accommodation, transportation, services that we include, and exclude, and we provide a cap, T-shirt, and bag with our company logo. 

Day 2 Guided Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.

The day starts with hot coffee and a delicious breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, our city guide will receive you from the hotel then take you to the Boudhanath temple, where you will explore the stupa, monastery. Then the guide will take you to the Patan Durbar Square, where you will explore the Patan Durbar, temples, witness the Newari culture, and food. Then drive to Swayambhunath and get the view of Kathmandu valley from the top of Swayambhunath then back to the hotel.

Day 3 Fly to Lukla (2,804m, 35 mins) then trek to Phakding (2,610m, 3-4 hrs)

Today we started early and took a morning scenic and exciting flight to Lukla. Once we reach Lukla, we will have breakfast then start the trek from Lukla to Phakding. Ascending towards Phakding will take 4 hrs to reach so we will reach there before noon. Once we reach there we will take a rest for some time then have lunch then explore around Phakding village.

Day 4 Trek to Namche Bazar (3,441 m, 5 hrs)

After the exciting flight to Lukla, today is one of the important days for this trek. Today we trek to Namche Bazar, which is one of the attraction factors of this trek, and Namche is the “Gate to Everest”. From Phakding, it takes 6-7 hrs to reach Namche Bazar so we start our trek after breakfast. 

After a 6-7 hrs trek, we finally reach Namche Bazar, where you can get any kind of facility. Then, we check-in in to the hotel and rest. Somewhere in the middle of the trek, we have lunch so we take a rest and explore around Bazar in the evening. 

 

Day 5 Acclimatization Hike around Namche Bazaar (3 hrs)

On this acclimatization day at Namche Bazar, we will first explore the Bazar of Namche and buy the necessary items then we hike to the Everest View Hotel from where we will get the pictorial views of Mt. Everest and the surrounding mountain. After that, we will explore the Hillary School, Hillary Hospital, Khumjung village, and come back to the Namche Bazar. 

We will have a brief meeting including porters, and a guide, and have a delicious dinner then take a rest.

Day 6 Trek to Tengboche (3,867 m) from Namche Bazar (3440 m) (5 hrs)

The trail descends to Phunki Thanka. Walking alongside the foothills, we may pass by donkeys and yaks carrying goods on the way. The trail then steeply ascends through a rhododendron forest to Tengboche village. The trail is scenic. You get to witness a panorama of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and many other mountains while trekking

Day 7 Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche

After breakfast, we first trek and reach Pangboche village. Further, trekking along with lush alpine forests and rhododendron trees, we see the treeline diminishing. Walking by shrubs, we pass by farming fields and soon reach Dingboche village for the night’s stay.

Day 8 Rest at Dingboche for acclimatization

We spend another acclimatization day in Dingboche. In the morning, we hike to Nagarjun hill, a ridge above Dingboche village that offers sick views of the snow-capped mountains. Views of Ama Dablam and Island Peak are especially outstanding.

Day 9 Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche

The trekking experience from Dingboche onwards is quite different. The trail gets a lot steeper and rugged with bare hills & prominent views of the majestic Himalayan mountains.

We walk on the steep terminal moraine of Khumbu Glacier and reach Thukla. The trail then passes by the memorials and Sherpa guides who lost their lives while pushing towards Everest top. We further ascend to Lobuche village.

Day 10 Trek from Lobuche to EBC and return to Gorekshep

Following the footsteps of our trek leader, we begin trekking towards the lap of Mt. Everest today. First, we walk by Gorak Shep. The trail is rough and rocky.

We can see the Khumbu Icefall beyond the Khumbu Glacier upon reaching the Everest base camp. After spending time at the base camp, we descend to Gorak Shep to sleep in a lodge comfortably.

Day 11 Hike to Kalapattar - return to Gorekshep and fly to Kathmandu by Helicopter

Before we take a helicopter flight to Kathmandu, we do a final hike to Kala Patthar. It is the highest point of our trek, and our uphill walking ends. We do not gain any further elevation above this point.

After we spend some time exploring and soaking in the heavenly views of the mountains, a helicopter picks us up from here and flies us back to Kathmandu.

The helicopter flight offers a breathtaking panorama of the mountains and the villages. In the evening, we meet over farewell dinner. Enjoy the remaining day doing shopping and packing.

Day 12 Transfer to airport for your departure flight to home

Himalayan Marvel Adventure delegate will drop you at the airport before 3 hrs and return to the respective places. Or you can choose the next program for the next adventurous journey.
