EBC trek via Chola pass and Gokyo Valley

Once you reach Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the Himalayan Marvel Adventure delegate will receive you from there then check-in in the hotel.

Early in the morning, we will sit together for a meeting with the tour guide and our staff then we will give a brief discussion about our itineraries, accommodation, transportation, services that we include, and exclude, and we provide a cap, T-shirt, and bag with our company logo.

 After the meeting, you can go to Kathmandu sightseeing with our city tour guide. Our city tour guide will take you to many famous places in Kathmandu valley like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Budhanilkantha, Bouddha, Pashupati Bhaktapur, Swoyambhu, Asan -market, and many more according to the time we have.

Today we started early and took a morning scenic and exciting flight to Lukla. Once we reach Lukla, we will have breakfast then start the trek from Lukla to Phakding. Ascending towards Phakding will take 4 hrs to reach so we will reach there before noon. Once we reach there we will take a rest for some time then have lunch then explore around Phakding village.

After the exciting flight to Lukla, today is one of the important days for this trek. Today we trek to Namche Bazar, which is one of the attraction factors of this trek, and Namche is the “Gate to the Everest”. From Phakding, it takes 6-7 hrs to reach Namche Bazar so we start our trek after breakfast.

 After a 6-7 hrs trek, we finally reach Namche Bazar, where you can get any kind of facility. Then, we check-in in to the hotel and rest. Somewhere in the middle of the trek, we have lunch so we take a rest and explore around Bazar in the evening.

On this acclimatization day at Namche Bazar, we will first explore around the Bazar of Namche and buy necessary items then we hike to the Everest View Hotel from where we will get the pictorial views of Mt. Everest and the surrounding mountain. After that, we will explore the Hillary School, Hillary Hospital, Khumjung village, and come back to the Namche Bazar.

 We will have a brief meeting including porters, guide, and have delicious dinner then take a rest.

Leaving Namche behind, we walk through the scenic beautiful trail perching on a rocky mountain above Dudh Koshi to Kyanjuma village.  We will have incredible views of Thamserku, Kongde, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Mt. Everest along the trail to Kyanjuma. We will take a short break there and resume our trek where we will find two ways; one towards Everest Base Camp and another towards Gokyo Lake.

The trail ascends towards Mong La pass and then descends into Khumbila, then again descends to Dudh Kosi river and Phortse Thenga. The trail passes under Rhododendron, juniper, coniferous trees along with grazelands of Yaks meets Dole.

Today is a short trek, but we will get a vast range of landscape views, wild mountain flowers on the way with a cool breeze. Besides the aspects, we will gradually walk uphill to reach today’s destination, Machhermo.

After leaving Machhermo, mostly the trail is uphills passing through the narrow valley to the widening valley. Passing through the  Dudh Kosi riverbank, the path becomes steeper while climbing Ngozumpa Glacier. On the way, we will pass First Gokyo Lake along with the amazing pastoral landscapes of shepherds. Then finally at Gokyo, a small beautiful village on the shore of the Third Gokyo Lake.

Early morning we will hike up to Gokyo Ri, which will take around 4 hrs. Once we reach the top of Gokyo Ri, a remarkable view will greet us.  We will have closed and fantastic views of Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Makalu. After spending some time there, we will retrace back to Gokyo and have our breakfast. Then trek to Thagnak, a beautiful place that stands in the eastern part of Gokyo.

Today is the most intricate day of the whole journey, where we have to pass through Cho La Pass. The trail filled with icy and slippery boulders and then a steep climb up to Cho La Pass.

 Besides these difficulties, colorful prayer flags at the top of Cho La Pass will give us some peace of mind. Then we will descend to Dzongla, a beautiful village in Khumbu. From here, the trail is easy, where we descend via the artistic vistas towards Lobuche.

One of the most important days, is the day to step on the base camp of Everest. On this day, we first trek to Gorak Shep, put our luggage in the lodge, and then start to hike towards Everest Base Camp.  Once we reach the camp, we explore around and witness the beauty of the surrounding mountains. After spending some hours there we retrace back to Gorak Shep and take a rest.

Today we trek to Kalapathar for a pictorial sunrise view from Mt. Everest, so we start early in the morning so that we reach the viewpoint before sunrise and we can enjoy the stunning sunrise. After spending some hours witnessing the glorious sunrise view, we retrace back to Pheriche. Take some rest then you can explore around and take part in local activities.

After breakfast at Pheriche, we retrace back to Namche Bazar. Once we reach, first we will take a rest for some hours then explore the Bazar. In the Bazar, you can see hospitals, banks, restaurants, barbershops, telephones, and many more.

Early in the morning after breakfast, we trek back to Lukla passing Phakding village and others. Once we reach  Lukla, we take a rest and explore around Lukla.

Breakfast in the morning and say goodbye to the trekking crew and fly back to Kathmandu with the trekking guide. Once you reach, you will be driven to the hotel and take a rest. After that, you can go anywhere as your wish but if you want a guide then we can arrange a city guide for you. You can also go shopping and explore the valley.

In the evening, we will throw a  farewell dinner for you including the crew and guide. We will exchange our trip experience and have a delicious meal.
