This Langtang Gosainkunda trek blends the remote and pristine Langtang Valley with the holy lakes of Gosainkund. Beginning in the Sherpa village of Syabrubesi on the outskirts of the Langtang National Park, you climb through a beautiful landscape filled with magnificent wildlife, yak meadows, and nearby cheese factories! Himalayan pheasants, Himalayan deer, Himalayan tigers, monkeys, and the rare red panda live in this area.
There are even stories of Yeti sightings here! Nearby views of Langtang Lirung and other mountains separating Nepal and Tibet are visible at Kyangjing Gompa. Climb Kyangjin Ri, which is right behind the settlement and provides a stunning 360-degree view of the Langtang peaks.
You walk towards Thulo Syabru after backtracking for a day to the village of Lama Hotel. The next day, a steep ascent to Dimsa village, then continues on a moderately steep trail to Shin Gompa, passing through Rhododendron and Oak forest. It is a village on the way to Gosainkunda. Climbing through the forest to a high plateau, you come to the high and sacred lakes, thousands of pilgrims come here to bathe in the cold waters. Two of the most beautiful lakes in the region are Bhairab Kunda and Saraswati Kunda. After that, retrace back to Kathmandu through Ghopte, Melamchigaon, Tarkeghyabg, Sermathang, and Melamchi Bazaar.
The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is rated as moderate in terms of complexity, however, the difficulty level varies depending on factors such as age, trekking habit, physical wellbeing, the timetable chosen, and the season of the trek. These elements influence whether the journey will be easy or challenging. If you are a novice who is not used to trekking but enjoys hiking in the landscape and is eager to go, we suggest that you start doing exercises such as running and climbing to help you acclimate to high altitudes.

Once you reach Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the Himalayan Marvel Adventure delegate will receive you from there then check-in in the hotel.
On this day, after breakfast at the hotel, we will meet the guide and crew members then a small meeting regarding our trek details. In the meeting, we will be discussing our itineraries, accommodation, transportation, services that we include and exclude, and we provide a cap, T-shirt, and bag with our company logo.
Then our city guide will take you for Kathmandu sightseeing, which includes Basantapur Durbar, Hanuman Dhoka, the busiest market of Kathmandu- Asan Bazar, Pashupatinath, and many more.
We’ll leave Kathmandu after breakfast and begin our journey. The 6-hour drive in a jeep/bus to Syabrubesi is full of beautiful scenery and adventure. You will spend the evening exploring the area around the hotel.
We’ll reach the Bhote Koshi first, then continue along the Langtang Khola. This path rises steadily to the Bamboo forest. After that, we make our way down to Rimche, which is located on the banks of the Langtang River. We can come across red pandas, monkeys, and bears on our journey.
From the Lama Hotel, we resume uphill until we reach Ghodatabela, a green meadow where we will stop for lunch. From Ghodatabela, you can see the magnificent Langtang range. You must pass through the region ravaged by the 2015 Earthquake before arriving at the new Langtang village. After a few hours’ walk, we reach Mundu village.
Another fascinating day for a trek to Kyanjin Gompa awaits us today. The trail is simple to follow, and the views are breathtaking. After breakfast, the trek to Kyanjin Gompa takes 3-4 hours. Kyanjin gumba is another pavilion with many accommodation facilities, pleasant places, and mountains surrounding it. When trekking in the Langtang valley, these are the most fun places to visit. You’re going to have a great time. Have lunch and explore Kyanjin Gompa and explore at another Cheese factory.
On this day, you will probably use to explore. The glaciers of Langtang Lirung are breathtaking. Climb Kyangjin Ri, also known in the area as Brana Chumbo, which is right behind the settlement and provides a stunning 360-degree view of the Langtang peaks.
As we gradually descend to Lama Hotel, today’s trek is long but relatively simple. The mountains appear to conquer the sky as they pass through woods and fascinating villages.
Thulo Syabru is a charming remote Tamang and Sherpa village. After breakfast, we walk from the Lama Hotel to the Hot Spring. To enter Thulo Syabru, the bamboo forest trekking trail, we must turn left from the hot spring and climb higher. To get to Thulo Syabru, we must first cross a suspension bridge.
The trek starts with a steep ascent to Dimsa village, then continues on a moderately steep trail to Shin Gompa, passing through Rhododendron and Oak forest. The route is fascinating due to the breathtaking views of Langtang Himal and the beautiful valley. When you arrive at Shin Gompa, you can go to one of the famous Cheese Factory.
On our way to Laurebina, we’ll take a leisurely walk along a stage that passes through a thick forest. In between, the Red Panda, an endangered species, has a home on the trail. If we keep walking up to the mountain, we’ll find a broader path that leads to the Gosaikunda’s holy land through the alpine area. Two of the most beautiful lakes in the region are Bhairab Kunda and Saraswati Kunda.
We leave Gosaikunda early in the morning after breakfast and walk across three small lakes. And make the way to Laurebina Pass. After that, spend some time exploring the area and taking in the spectacular views of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. The trail then descends to Ghopte and can see some yaks bringing goods along the way.
Today we will trek to Melamchi Gaon, a Sherpa village. To get there, we cross a river on a suspension bridge. We’ll find a monastery and a shrine founded by an 8th-century Buddhist guru when we get there.
We will begin our trek to Tarkeghyang early in the morning. The track passes by several holy chortens and religious monuments as we descend to the Melamchi Khola bridge. We climb up the ridge to Tarkeghyang, passing through Sherpa villages. Tarkeghyang is a beautiful Sherpa village with one of the region’s largest and oldest monasteries.
Depart for Sermathang today, passing through the charming Tarkeghyang village on the way. We’ll walk through beautiful villages and jungles when passing through flatland. We’ll enter another lovely Sherpa village, Sermathang, after crossing some small streams along the way. Many ancient monasteries can be found in this village. We’ll also get a spectacular view of Jugal Himal’s north face.
This is the last day of your journey. You’ll steadily descend towards Melamchi Bazaar after leaving the charming Sherpa village behind. With the pictorial views of snow-capped peaks, it will be a very fun walk. The trail continues to descend to Melamchi Bazaar. You’ll take a break here before returning to Kathmandu.
