Overview

Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary, the first Everest climbers, took the conventional route from Jiri to EBC. The avenue is well-known, and it leads us across Nepal’s natural wonders. Jiri, the trek’s starting point, is also known as “Little Heaven” in Nepal. The long journey before reaching the standard path via Lukla improves acclimatization.

The Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek features stunning vistas and also the beauty of landscapes, Rhododendron and pine trees, magnolia and alpine woods, and more. Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Everest can all be visible along the way. Everest Base Camp and Kalapatha, the most popular destinations, grant views of various mountain peaks, including Pumori, Everest, Lhotse, and the Khumbu Glacier, and Khumbu Ice Falls, Pinnacles, Amadablam, Kantega, Thamserku.

The Jiri trek starts with an 8-9-hour bus ride from Kathmandu to Jiri, rather than the short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. On the following days, we trek to Bhandar, Sete, and Junbesi through the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar, Lamjura Pass. Spending two days at Junbesi, the great stopover with attractive lodges and bazaar atmosphere, we resume our trek towards Nunthala and Bupsa. From Bupsa, we step at Lukla, which joins the most common route to EBC. We then trek to Phakding. We’ll walk a few hours the next day to Namche Bazar, also known as the Everest gateway. After that, we’ll visit Namche Bazar and hike to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Mt. Everest and the surrounding mountains.

Before returning to Namche Bazar, we’ll stop by the Hillary School, Hillary Hospital, and Khumjung village. After two days at Namche Bazar, we trek to Phortse, then Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorak Shep. We trek from Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp for a few hours and witness the beauty of the surrounding mountains.

The following day, we leave early, for Kalapathar to arrive at the viewpoint before sunrise and enjoy the spectacular sunrise view from Mt. Everest. After experiencing the glorious dawn for several hours, we retrace our steps back to Pheriche and then Namche. We fly back to Kathmandu via the scenic Lukla flight after saying our goodbyes to the trekking team.

You will get an unforgettable trekking experience in the Everest area with exciting natural and cultural highlights in a short amount of time. On your next vacation, join Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek for 22 days. For reservations and more details, please contact us right away. Feel free to tailor the trip to your preferences and time constraints.
